First Day of School Picture Books

Did you recover from all the shopping you did yesterday at the Back to School Sale at TPT?  Ready for day two of the sale?  Of course you are!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy browsing and shopping schedule to drop in for a visit!

I came back over to my blog from TPT to tell you about a few picture books that are per.fect. for the first day or first week of school!!!  I promise I will keep this short and very sweet!  Sweet, because I have literacy packets for these picture books-on sale with an additional 10% off when you use promo code BTS12.  All packets are below $4!
  • Cloudette- by Tom Lichtenheld is a beloved little picture that is a perfect read aloud at the beginning of the year. The book's theme gently emphasizes that no matter one's size, we all have something big and important to contribute. We all have a silver lining!  Click here to see the literacy packet.

  • This activity packet is designed for a read aloud of the picture book Ready, Set, School by Jacquelyn Mitchard. A delightful book, this cute tale teaches little ones that even though change and new experiences can be scary, they can be overcome if we just try! In the story, Rory, the raccoon, is so scared to go to a sleepover and is worried about the first day of school.  This listing is here.

  • The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse by Eric Carle is written and illustrated in classic Carle style, but it has such an empowering message for our little learners and thinkers!
This is a great book to use as a read-aloud at the beginning of the school year to foster creativity, risk-taking, and using one's imagination in the learning process.  Click the below to see this unique reading and craftivity packet!

  •   Ease the back to school jitters with this fun activity packet for the story First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg!  My number one top-selling item! This book packet is designed for grade three, but could be used with older or younger students as well.  This story is in the grade 3 Treasures reading series.  Click the picture below to see the listing.

Hopefully, I have shared a new book for you to read with your sweet peas on the first day of school!
I need to run back on over to TPT to do some more shopping and then work on a new owl theme project that will be listed soon!
Have a marvelous Monday!
